Since its foundation in 1969, MOECO has been consistently engaged in the exploration, development and production of oil and natural gas. We have faced a range of changes in the business environment, including the triple woes (oil price stagnation, the appreciation of the yen and a fall in sales volume associated with the weak economy in Thailand) during the 1980s, the tragic oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico in the US in 2010 and the manifestation of geopolitical risks in recent years, all of which had a significant impact on MOECO. However, we have steadily enhanced our business portfolio and have now assets in Southeast Asia, North America, the Middle East and Europe, in addition to the Gulf of Thailand, our core operation area. In recent years, we have also been promoting geothermal business, one of renewable energy sources.

The energy industry is currently required to deal with the major challenges of supplying energy stably and efficiently to satisfy increasing world energy demand and taking measures against global climate change at the same time. MOECO, an oil and natural gas E&P company, is determined to take on this difficult social responsibility.

The business environment is becoming increasingly severe and uncertain as ever. Thus, we aim to become a business entity that is able to enhance its corporate value, even in this era of very high volatility, by undergoing ceaseless evolution. To this end, we will make sure that all our employees, MOECO’s greatest asset, are able to fully demonstrate all their abilities. We will also increase our business execution capabilities by mobilizing all the management resources we have.
