SIIX, formerly known as Sakata Inx International Corp., was established in July 1992 as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sakata Inx Corporation. It developed out of Sakata's Inx's International Division, which since 1957 had engaged in import, export and trilateral trade of electronic components and devices, consumer and industrial electronics, and industrial machinery. Sakata Inx established the subsidiary to further expand and hasten its overseas business development in form of a more independent organization. The company has since launched many new businesses and was renamed SIIX Corp. in July 1998.
