Asahi Glass Co. Ltd. the world's foremost glass producer was founded by Mr. Toshiya Iwasaki and determine to take on the challenge of domestic flat glass production in the 1900s. The Search commenced for a new plant site could offer convenient water transportation and room to expand. In the end, Amagasaki, Hyogo, was selected as the location for the new plant.
